No need to worry about parking spots
Parkmobile Parking is a free travel and navigation mobile app that lets you make car parking a less burdensome task. Developed by Parkmobile B.V., this convenient little tool features quick app payments for your parking tickets and easy space-finding within your city using just your GPS location tracking.
Take note that Parkmobile Parking is a UK-based service and is different from ParkMobile – Find Parking, which is designed for the US and is from another developer. They have mostly the same features, though. Here, you can also save your favorite parking locations and reserve them in advance.
Does Parkmobile charge a fee?
Parkmobile Parking’s key features are letting you easily search for available parking spaces and paying for them. Using this app greatly saves you time—and it can even alert you whenever your time limit is nearly up. You can also reserve spots and save them as your favorites. The app can accommodate several vehicles by simply registering their plate numbers via your account.
To use this app, first create a free account once it’s downloaded. Once you’ve parked your car, check the zone code based on your GPS location and press “Start.” This registers your current plate number as actively parked. Once you’re ready to leave, just press “Stop.” For the payment, you can do it on a monthly basis using a payment method of your choice.
What’s great about this app is that you can avail of its services in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Belgium—although not all cities are supported so you need to check its location listings. However, compared to other parking apps, this one is plagued with performance issues and confusing fees. It often crashes when logging in. Also, you don’t realize that you’ll be charged extra since the app doesn’t inform you.
Really needs an overhaul
All in all, Parkmobile Parking does have some promising features but it badly needs some service improvements. You can find parking spots, pay them, and reserve your favorites—however, it’s easy to find yourself frustrated because the app just won’t cooperate and even be vague about the actual price you’ll be charged with. It might be better to use other travel apps in the UK.
