Filter app inspired by Instagram
Orange Teal is a free photography application for mobile from developer Be Studios Montreal. It is a photo editor that offers image filters inspired by the ones used on the popular social media platform, Instagram. With it, users apply the same effect to their pictures independently without needing to go through IG itself.
Similar to other apps like Layout from Instagram or Boomerang from Instagram, Orange Teal makes it so that anyone can utilize features from the platform as standalone solutions. It also comes with additional editing tools and options that help enhance images even further.
That popular Instagram filter
Instagram, or simply IG, is everyone’s personal media library for sharing snippets of their lives through images and short video stories. It’s also one of the first to implement photo filters to stylize your uploads before posting. There’s one that added an orange and teal tinge for a unique and mesmerizing look. You can now achieve the same effect with the Orange Teal app.
To get started with this app, choose a photo from your local gallery or social media library. From there, choose your filters, starting with the highlight orange teal and variations of the same color palette like aqua brown, aqua orange, and more. Then, there are additional choices unique to the app that let you apply black and white effects or isolate specific colors in a photo.
You can adjust the intensity of the filters via the advanced menu, which lets you tweak Saturation, Highlights, and Shadows to suit your taste. Once done, you can save a copy or share it directly with your socials. Just know this free version limits image resolution, and has a strict requirement that your device supports OpenGLES3 shader processing, which is attributed to powerful GPUs.
Just like how IG does it
If you frequently use IG filters, particularly, the one emulated here, then Orange Teal is one of the best implementations of such from the apps available right now. You can adjust the effect to your liking, and the variations are just as nice to use. The other options are nice, but the orange and teal combo is the one you should try out first. Recommended.
