2D action platformer with hand-drawn art
Nine Sols is a premium action game for PC created by developer RedCandleGames. It’s a 2D platformer featuring beautiful hand-drawn art and an Asian fantasy theme. In it, players will embark on a journey through a forsaken realm to seek vengeance on its nine rulers.
Drawing inspiration from other titles, Nine Sols boasts a similar art style as Hollow Knight while featuring souls-like action with the deflection system from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. This demo version will provide players a sense of what they can expect, gameplay-wise, when the full game officially comes out.
Vengeance is mine
The game takes place in the fantasy world of New Kunlun, the Solarian people’s last sanctuary. For centuries, the realm has been governed by nine ancient gods called Sols that have left their subjects to their own devices and to fend for themselves. It’s not until a child unknowingly awakens a hero from the past named Yi. Thus, begins his vengeful quest to defeat the Nine Sols.
Combining elements of cyberpunk and Taoist eastern mythology, you will be journeying across a dystopian Taopunk world. Combat revolves around the use of magical talismans to slash and charge toward enemies. You can also take advantage of a deflection system that lets you perform carefully timed parries. Have your enemies fumble and set them up for counters that deal massive amounts of damage while receiving none for yourself.
You will be meeting various side characters to interact with throughout your adventure. They will be able to help you gain upgrades, new abilities, and even discover technology to use for the fight. Now, outside of the demo version, the full game is not available yet. There is also no specific date when it will come out aside from a planned Q2 2023 release window.
