Premium apocalyptic survival game
Next Day: Survival is a paid action game from the Last Level team. This survival app, available in both single-player and multiplayer modes, lets you experience a fictional Eastern European landscape threatened by an unknown menace. Survive in a hostile environment, interact with a variety of characters, improve your reputation, and gain access to new content.
The gameplay mechanics for Next Day: Survival make it reminiscent of Rust, but with post-apocalyptic vibes from S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow Of Chernobyl, although with a markedly more difficult farming system. Still, you might want to check this game out.
Survive in a toxic wasteland
Most of the events in Next Day: Survival occur on a large open-world map, with different parts creating a different experience. You have swamps, beaches, forests, and complete concrete buildings that all contain NPCs, environmental hazards, and other elements that can help or deter you from pushing forward, depending on your gameplay style and approach. Also, it offers more actions—driving vehicles, swimming, and even parachuting to your location.
Also, as mentioned, you will need to develop your skills and increase your Reputation, which will give you access to survivor factions. Like factions in the Fallout series, each of these groups has its own features, capabilities, and restrictions. It has an extensive crafting system and a wide range of interaction options with the environment. Unfortunately, as mentioned, farming for good and useful items is notoriously difficult in this game.
A more pressing issue with this game, however, is the condition of its game servers. Players routinely complain of being unable to connect or being disconnected in the middle of their game. What makes it worse is that it happens to both single-player and multiplayer games. Until this issue is resolved, it might be hard for players to enjoy this game.
A poorly-maintained game
Overall, Next Day: Survival is a promising game in concept, being in position as a viable Rust alternative. It has a lot of activities for you to explore and discover as you go about a massive open-world map that presents unique challenges. Swim across rivers and lakes, climb mountains, or camp in abandoned buildings. Unfortunately, its servers have fallen into disrepair, making it difficult for people to even play.
