My Hero Academia themed RPG for mobile
MY HERO ULTRA IMPACT is a free mobile role-playing title developed by BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc. It’s a turn-based fighting game based on the popular manga/anime series, My Hero Academia. Players will control various characters from the series and engage in team battles utilizing quirk abilities.
Just like with Ultimate Shippuden: Ninja Heroes Impact or DRAGON BALL LEGENDS, MY HERO ULTRA IMPACT was developed to let fans experience My Hero Academia through a new medium. It was released in celebration of the anime’s fifth season and will feature heroes and villains up to that point.
3v3 quirk battle
Team battles have been a staple in the fighting game genre for a long time now, and MY HERO ULTRA IMPACT follows in the same vein. It follows a familiar 3v3 format but takes a turn-based approach to the combat itself. Add to this, the ability to level up and upgrade the quirk abilities of your character, and the result is a mix of fighting and RPG mechanics.
The game’s main campaign will have you relive the series’ story from the start when Deku first encounters All Might, all the way to the point he officially receives his Pro Hero license. You will be able to interact and form connections during your time at U.A. High School. You can even build a Hero Base where you can invite other players over.
Speaking of other players, once you’ve built your ultimate team and mastered their quirks, you can test your skills in the Ultra Arena and do battle with other players. One thing to be aware of before jumping in is the game experiences frequent crashes. Hopefully, this issue gets addressed soon in a future update. Apart from that, though, fans will enjoy this one.
One for the fans
In conclusion, MY HERO ULTRA IMPACT is a good game that fans of the series will appreciate and enjoy playing. The combat feels familiar and easy-to-grasp, there are plenty of characters to unlock, and quirks to experiment with and combine. Plus, you get to experience the story all over again, which is always a big plus. This one gets a recommendation.
