Cooperative multi-user text editing over the internet
Team work sometimes gets difficult, especially when the team members are scattered all over the world and use the Internet as their communicating and working tool. MoonEdit can help solve this issue by offering support for collaborative writing online.
This editor enables coders, writers or just about anyone to simultaneously edit a document online, working on it together with other users at the same time. Each one will have a different color so that the work doesn’t get too messy. The program also features a simple interface very much like Notepad. Its menus, however, look a bit awkward.
It seems a good solution for collaborative work, but we must admit we were unable to make it work online during our tests and that the program’s help wasn’t enough to discover what we were doing wrong.
With MoonEdit every co-author can edit the shared document at any time, from any place, and at the same time! There’s no need to send files via FTP or to compare documents when multiple users need to make changes to it independently.
Every user has their own color. Every cursor movement and text changes are simultaneously visible on the screen by all users. Users can view the history of changes from a multi-user edit session. This is especially useful if you want to check out what other users have changed since you were away.
