Is the game any good?

In a nutshell, Manor Lords is a medieval city builder that incorporates deep strategic gameplay with a gridless and freeform approach to building. You will have full freedom over your placement of various structures and fixtures utilizing a snap-on system that allows for greater flexibility while still making it easy to order and line things up—easier planning and visualization as you go along.

The game also boasts of an organic building experience for how you play is affected by external factors like the growth of villages and the economy of surrounding settlements. They add a level of variability and challenge to the game as you progress. Add to that, the various chores and actions that you need to perform, such as plowing fields and herding livestock, makes for an authentic and immersive time.

What’s more, you’ll be able to experience and engage in skirmishes and large-scale battles as you tread new lands and face other lords and their territories. Do note, however, that as of this writing, the game is still in Early Access. Also, its developer has no exact date yet for the official release of the full game. Considering this was made by a single person, though, it’s understandable.

Build and establish lordship over the land

Overall, if you’re a fan of medieval games and you’re looking for something new to try out, Manor Lords is an interesting title worth checking. Its deep strategic gameplay and freeform building mechanics let you have control over how you play. The addition of battles makes it more fun and challenging, as well. Recommended.
