Lego puzzle building game
LEGO Bricktales is a puzzle-adventure game from developer ClockStone. In this game, players will go on an adventure across a world of epic Lego diorama biomes. However, there will be puzzles to solve, which will require building structures using Lego pieces.
LEGO Bricktales plays similarly to the geometric puzzler Lego Builder’s Journey. You explore colorful brick dioramas and solve puzzles. However, in this game, it will be more granular. It has a separate building screen, and it requires you to stress test your creation. However, players will find the controls a little complex and the physics to be unforgiving.
What is LEGO Bricktales?
In LEGO Bricktales, you play as a little Lego dude who wishes to help his inventor grandfather rebuild an old amusement park. To search for inspiration, you’ll explore different Lego diorama biomes together with his little robot buddy. The journey will take him to the deepest jungles, deserts, and even a bustling city. To progress, however, he will need to help the mini figures of these worlds by solving puzzles.
When you build stuff, you will enter a kind of simulation screen. Unlike other Lego games, you will have a goal and know what you need to create. Moreover, you have a set number of Lego pieces. Don’t worry, though. The act of putting together the bricks is also straightforward as they generally go where you expect them to. However, it still needs a bit of refinement.
There are different puzzles in the game, from traversal ones, such as bridges and stairs, to straight construction of a building or a helicopter. As mentioned, you will stress test each creation. If it passes then it will appear in-game just as you built it on the construction screen. However, players should note that it takes too long to build anything as undoing mistakes sometimes takes minutes.
Is the game good?
All in all, LEGO Bricktales is a good game to play if you are into building pieces using real-life Lego bricks. Building structures follow the physical version of cinching each brick to each other. There is more to the game than simply creating various structures though. Still, it could use more improvement in the controls as it takes too long to complete a puzzle.
