Action RPG VR game for PC
Legendary Tales is a premium action game for PC by developer Urban Wolf Games Inc. It is a virtual reality title with a medieval fantasy setting, wherein players will be exploring dungeons, facing a variety of deadly monsters, and looking for hidden loot and treasure.
Similar to BONEWORKS or Podracer, Legendary Tales is played in a first-person perspective for a more immersive experience. The game features a melee-centric combat system that utilizes realistic physics to mimic the feel and weight of different weapons. Players will need to learn how to wield them effectively during fights to survive.
Immersive swordplay
Legendary Tales is a first-person dungeon crawler wherein you play as a would-be adventurer in search of fame, glory, and loot. You can opt to play solo or four-player co-op mode. The combat is melee-centric that allows you to wield weapons that bludgeon, cut, and pierce. However, you also have a bow & arrow, as well as hex magic at your disposal if you prefer fighting at a distance.
There are various RPG gameplay elements and mechanics featured in this game that let you assign attributes to your characters and utilize skills during combat for more deadly attacks. What’s more, there are also a variety of procedurally generated items and gear that you can pick up and equip for added bonuses and special weapon effects. All of this, on top of the game’s movement and swing physics.
Speaking of physics, the combat was designed to simulate the weight and feel of weapon swings. Essentially, the harder you swing, the more damage you can inflict on enemies. There’s already a solid foundation in place gameplay wise, but the same cannot be said for its design. There is a noticeable lack of enemy variety, and the visual assets used just seem to be a rehash of one another.
Taste thy steel, foul creature
If you’re big on VR gaming and are looking for something new to play, give Legendary Tales a go. It’s a fantasy RPG action-adventure title that has a lot to like. The gameplay mechanics and systems are good, and the physics behind its combat is surprisingly polished and well-tuned. This is a good game that is worth experiencing despite some of the issues mentioned.
