Kustväder – Detailed Weather Forecast App

Kustväder is a free weather forecast app developed by Sjöräddningssällskapet for Android users. The app provides a detailed two-day forecast that shows hourly updates of wind, waves, water temperature, air pressure and more. It also features a function that displays how the sea looks under different weather conditions and wind speeds. Additionally, the positioning function helps you to indicate your longitude and latitude in case of an emergency and you need to alert the authorities. You can also share your location with a friend if you just want to let them know where you are.

The SMHI and YR provide the weather forecasts used by the app. The forecasts and weather warnings are issued and updated six times a day and show local weather from Skagerack and Kattegatt to Norra Bottenhavet, in Vänern, Vättern, Siljan, Storsjön (Jämtland) and Helgasjön and Bolmen. Kustväder also gives you the option to support Sjöräddningssällskapet by becoming a member. The entire operation is run voluntarily, without any contributions from the state. All rescue boats have a volunteer crew that is available around the clock, year-round.
