Be the Dwarven King in this sim
King of the Dwarves: Underground City Builder is a paid strategy game from Games Operators. In this indie experience, you get to be a dwarven king tasked with building a kingdom inside a mountain. This allows for a multi-layered building experience as you create sprawling great halls and winding corridors while finding the riches hidden beneath the earth.
Its aesthetic and gameplay make King of the Dwarves: Underground City Builder reminiscent of Dungeon Keeper Gold with lore worthy of joining The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
Build your Mines of Moria
True to its dwarven-focused lore, King of the Dwarves: Underground City Builder gives you the opportunity to build an underground kingdom with the dwarves’ primary industry: mining. As you reach deeper parts of the mountain, you get to discover more valuable riches. You get a slow and difficult start, though. Resource allocation and efficient use of units are important for you to progress.
The game also allows you to customize the dwarf community under your care. Forge their armors, equip them with pickaxes and hammers, and boost their morale to ensure your kingdom’s survival. There are a variety of craftable items for you to unlock and provide your people with. Additionally, the game incorporates a religion mechanic through temple altars that allow you to curry favor with the gods.
It is important to note that while there are a lot of character classes you can use to strengthen your domain, remember that it’s all dwarves. If you’re looking for other races, you’re missing the point. Also, take note that the game has chance-based elements, such as floods drowning your people or earthquakes collapsing your subterranean routes–make sure to prepare at every turn.
Dig deeper, get richer
If you’re curious about stories of dwarven kings and their piles of riches, King of the Dwarves: Underground City Builder is a great opportunity to see it for yourself. From designing every aspect of your underground kingdom to the tasks of every dwarf, you can build a base that suits your tastes and aligns with your visions. Once you get past its slow-paced early game, it’s all exploration and conquest.
