Scream in this thrilling Sci-Fi FPS

Judas is a sci-fi first-person shooter game developed and published by Ken Levine and Ghost Story Games. Levine is the same person who brought us the BioShock franchise. Judas, the game’s heroine, is struggling to survive aboard a big wrecked starship, which you need to repair.

Judas has a gameplay style that is reminiscent of BioShock. The plot is centered on survival and you must choose whether or not to trust other characters in your quest to fix the ship, as scavenging, fighting, and defending alone won’t be enough to keep you safe.

Sense of familiarity

In Judas, you have a variety of weaponry in your right hand and can shoot more weapons and powerups from a mechanical element in your left hand, much like the Plasmid action games, if you’re familiar with Ken Levine’s previous work. Characters can also help you kill enemies from a turret, and you can partner up with them in violent conflicts.

In the game, the protagonist modeled their left hand and is equipped with a gadget similar to a stopwatch that is inserted in the palm. Your character’s hand is ablaze and can be utilized as a ranged weapon in combat battles. A regular weapon armory can be spiced up with a dash of old-school cyberpunk adventure and science fiction with the addition of traditional weaponry like a crossbow.

Graphics-wise, the game looks superb with all the colors and contrast that it brings to the table. It’s not another BioShock installment which is what fans have been waiting for, but it has familiar elements from it. However, knowing how Ken Levine loves his gore, the game might be too much for kids and can be flagged as not suitable for all ages.

Worth a try

Judas is a first-person shooter that targets the audience of its developer’s past released games. However, it is more advanced as it introduces components that are fresh to the eyes. There is a lot of gore and mature content that you need to keep an eye out for, but it definitely nails the tried-and-true formula of bloody combat. This is worth keeping an eye out for.
