Try new IM features for free
IMO Beta is a version of IMO Messenger – an all-in-one instant messaging app that lets you send messages to different platforms. Chat or text with friends, family, or business associates on Google Talk, Facebook, ICQ, and other services all from IMO Beta. The difference between Beta and the Messenger app is that Beta users get to use new features first.
Get early access
IMO released IMO Beta to test new services or features with average users; once the feature is about ready to launch, they’re first sent to the Beta app. For example, the ability for gamers to communicate with other Steam users first appeared here, then went live on IMO Messenger when it was ready to go live.
The big difference of chatting here over the Steam app is that users can talk to their contacts regardless of what platform they’re using. A typical situation on IMO would be this: you’re talking to your gamer friends on Steam, your family on Facebook Messenger, and your colleagues on Skype all at the same time. Of course, you’ll be notified which platform the person used to contact you.
Apart from the new beta features, IMO offers the standard features of the messaging app; chat with your contacts, send multimedia files, and hold conference calls. IMO Beta can be used on 2G, 3G, 4G, and Wi-Fi connection. This allows you to hear your contacts anytime, anywhere; whether you’re having a private voice call or video conference, the audio remains crystal-clear.
Restricted functionality
Like the original IMO app, this version also has a simple, well-organized interface. There is a window for chat and contact numbers but not much else. Simplicity may be considered its best feature, but IM-savvy users may find it limiting as customization choices are restricted. The application makes up for this by providing quality voice and video calls and privacy features.
You can use any kind of connection available to you to make a call via the app, but-of course-the quickest and most reliable internet connection will give you the best experience. Other useful features of the app are the automated syncing of your phone’s contact list to the software. This will let you know which number the IMO account has.
Apart from offering you a first look at the new features, the software lacks features that stand out from other related services. Telegram and Telegram Beta offer the same functionality and also more user-generated stickers; however, IMO Beta is ideal for those who have to send encrypted messages and files for free.
Great for chat savvy users
IMO Beta is a good chat and VoIP doubles as an SMS sender and recipient. Although IMO can appear very similar to other messaging apps such as Telegram or Telegram Beta, it differs in that it provides not only cross-platform messaging but gives users an opportunity to try the IMO’s new features first.
