Add new patrols and more battles to Skyrim SE
Immersive Patrols SE is a free and unofficial mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition. It alters how patrols function in the game. It does this by adding new patrols that belong to various factions and increases the number of battles that arise from them.
As its name suggests, Immersive Patrols SE aims to enhance the overall immersion and realism of Skyrim SE. Unlike other mods that achieve this by altering graphics, like Skyrim Flora Overhaul Mod, this pack tweaks the gameplay and offers a new playing experience.
New patrols for different factions
You will find a range of new patrols added to the world of Skyrim after you’ve activated this mod. The Stormcloak, Thalmor, Imperial, and Dawnguard factions will all have boosted numbers, while Solstheim will host additional Skaal, Reaver, and Riekling patrols. Basic caravans are also added to the game.
Civil war enhancements
This mod also makes enhancements to the Civil War. New battles are added, along with altered mechanics in which the Civil War NPCs align with enemy factions that can attack you on sight. Additionally, destroying the remaining enemy camps after the Civil War ends will disable all related NPCs.
Allegiance issues
The mod poses technical issues if you switch Civil War factions. When changing sides at a certain point during the game, the Immersive Patrols SE NPCs will still perceive you as a member of your former faction. However, the online documentation explains a way you can get around this issue.
More than just new NPCs
Though ostensibly just a mod that adds new NPCs, Immersive Patrols SE turns out to be more sophisticated than it first appears to be. The alterations it makes to the Civil War mechanics add an interesting new slant to the gameplay.
