Extract and manage icons from icon libraries
Icon Explorer lets you preview and extract all the icons contained in executable files (EXE) and system libraries (DLL) in a very easy way.
Simply use the built-in file manager in Icon Explorer to search for the file you want to extract the icons from, and click on the icon found by Icon Explorer to see all the available sizes and resolutions.
A right click on any of them enables you to save it directly to your hard drive.
Another interesting feature in Icon Explorer is the built-in search tool, which scans folders and sub-folders in search of icons and which can work with mask filters
The program works with icons up to 256×256 pixels and lets you save them both in ICO or BMP – the latter being which means you can then work on them with any other graphic editor.
Sadly it doesn’t work with any other formats, nor does it support transparency.
Icon Explorer allows you to completely manage icon libraries (ICL), standalone icons and executable that contains icons as resources. It supports 32bit icons too.
It has powerfull searching tool that searches specified path with directory recursion and examines any file if it contains any icon and then extract it.
