i die a lovely life’s story shows the struggle of two lovers separated by great distances. The plot is simple yet interesting, involving someone uploading their consciousness into a computer. The art quality isn’t quite the same as Doki Doki Literature Club!, but it holds a certain charm to it.

It’s a small project and it doesn’t have the additional features you will see in bigger VN titles, but it has enough creativity to be goofy, funny, and sweet. The scribble-style art, music, and humorous writing all mesh well together to make this VN a fun experience. 

The VN’s length of 20 minutes is short, but this complements its pacing. It tells a fun and compelling story and it doesn’t overstay its welcome. The transitions are executed so well that sometimes it feels less like a VN and more like a one-shot episode. It’s told straightforwardly and the presentation does a great job of differentiating the characters and the setting. 

This visual novel executes its ideas well, and it’s a hidden gem among the piles of visual novels you can find, but it’s still a niche title. The art style, while adorable, might put off some people who are used to professionally drawn VNs. That being said, the premise and humor highlight the author’s creativity, making this VN a delightful experience.
