A choice-driven narrative game about being a fish
How Fish Is Made is a choice-driven narrative game where the player takes on the role of a sardine that finds itself inside of a machine. The player must navigate through the machine, talk to other fish, and find their way out… or not. The fish may lie to the player, but also the player may lie to the fish.
The dark humor and oddly surreal nature of the game can be likened to games like Alice: Madness Returns, though this game is quite short in length compared to Alice. That being said, the game is free, so the length may not be a problem for most.
Be a fish in a machine
In How Fish is Made, the player must become a fish — specifically, a sardine — and navigate their way through the internals of a large and mysterious machine. Flopping around the machine like a fish out of water, the player will encounter other fish and will have to make various decisions that affect how the game plays out.
Horror and choice
The game features plenty of choices that can be made, many of which come in the dialogue with other fish, and many of those choices have visible effects on the game world and its characters. The game is classed as a horror, so players should be prepared for unsettling imagery and themes.
Short and surreal
How Fish is Made is a game with a somewhat twisted narrative and perhaps a moral message or two. For fans of narrative-driven unsettling horror, it should prove to be an interesting game to play. The game is quite short. However, this is standard for games of this type and shouldn’t be a problem since the game is free.
