A post-apocalyptic strategy game

HighFleet is a strategy game set in a post-apocalyptic world that has no memory of its past. Players take control of thousand-ton military airships and do battle in an attempt to regain control of a rebellious kingdom. The ships are laden with weaponry, and victory relies on the player’s ability to skillfully move their ship around.

This game shares many traits with other strategy games like Command & Conquer Red Alert, but with a scope that is somewhat more up close and personal. The game also features a ”dieselpunk” aesthetic that depicts a future as it would have been imagined by science fiction in the 1950s.

Experience a retro future

HighFleet takes place in a world that is based around the “dieselpunk” aesthetic — essentially a future as science fiction of the 1950s would have shown. It is a post-apocalyptic world where there are no records or memories of the past. The player is able to explore the world. Indeed, it is a requirement to progress through the game.

Detailed combat simulation

The strategy and combat aspect of the game takes place between 100-ton airships that are bristling with weaponry. Rather than a mere button-mashing exercise, the game requires strategic movement and the use of weapons to succeed. There is also an economic component, requiring players to manage things like the fuel usage of their fleet.

A visually impressive combat strategy game

Players who enjoy strategy games will likely find HighFleet an enjoyable experience. Many players who have tried the game have lauded its combat system as a particular highlight, while the high-quality graphics make it an aesthetically-pleasing game. However, other players have noted that the economic-management side of things can be a little too unforgiving.
