Free social app for Indian military
Hamraaz is a social application developed by the Indian government for its military members. This app, launched by the Ministry of Electronics, provides its users with ways to access salary information and other relevant information or services from the government. It is free to use and does not require lots of storage space.
More than information, Hamraaz also reduced the gap in the communications between the soldiers by working as a messaging tool. With this, information can be passed promptly to junior commissioned officers and other personnel. However, note that this app is solely for the military and not civilians.
What can you do with the app?
Hamraaz is an Android-based mobile app designed by the Indian government. As mentioned, its primary role is to help military members access information about salary and other government services with ease. With it, they can access their payslip from the convenience of their phones. The payslip is in PDF format. However, to do so, users must provide their payslip passwords. The password is usually the four digits of the user’s PAN card alongside the month and date of their birth.
More than accessing a copy of the payslip, the app allows users to download the PDF to their device’s storage. However, it requires another password, which is the four digits of the PAN card plus the last four digits of the soldier’s enrollment date. Unlike other password-protected services, the passwords for your payslip should always be capitalized. Otherwise, the app will not accept it.
Furthermore, Hamraaz also comes with an instant messaging tool, bridging the gap between the high-ranking officials and the junior commissioned officers and other personnel. Through this function, information can be passed down easily. Users can even get individual pop-up messages, More than that, serving Jawans can also get details about their postings and even promotions. Finally, with the latest update, users can now access other services, including online grievances management and change of AFPP fund subscription,
How can users get started with the app?
Downloading the app is easy since it follows the same process as other Android apps. Users need only to click the Download button and install it on their device. However, it requires Android 5.0 Lollipop and above to use it. Once done, you can proceed with the signup process. As mentioned, it requires your Aadhaar card number, which the system will have to verify with the Army database over the National Information Centre cloud.
You will then receive a one-time password (OTP) on your registered mobile number as part of the verification process. This means you need to have your latest mobile number linked to your Aadhaar card number. Without doing so, you cannot enable the services of the Hamraaz app. After that, you will also need to enter additional credentials as part of the application. Once done, you are good to go. Note, however, that the app suffers from occasional lags and bug issues.
Handy app for Jawans
Overall, Hamraaz is an excellent app if you are a serving military member of India. It offers a fast, convenient, and easy way to disseminate information and other military services. With it, you can access information not only about your salary but your postings, as well. Note, however, that the app is far from perfect. There are bugs that need fixing. Nevertheless, it is a useful app for members of the Indian army.
