Golda is the Israeli version of the ice cream chain from the same name, with about 140 branches nationwide. The company was founded in 2002 by Nir and Adi, the son of mother Anita who was known in the neighborhood for her homemade jams and specialty pastries.
Nir and Adi opened their first shop in the Neve Tzedek neighborhood of Tel Aviv in 2002, where they sold their ice cream and specialty pastries in the home kitchen. In 2003, they moved to the Baka neighborhood of Tel Aviv, where they opened their second shop – Golda. In 2006, they opened their third shop in the Ramat Gan neighborhood, which they named Golda after the daughter of their mother. In 2009, they moved to their current location in the Baita Goren neighborhood of Tel Aviv.
