A blockchain-based TCG
Gods Unchained is a free-to-play trading card game led by Chris Clay, known as the former game director for Magic: The Gathering Arena. In this simulator, not only do you get to build your decks and fight against other players, but you can also trade and sell your cards for your own cryptocurrency. Aside from rising through the ranks, you can also earn from playing this game.
Its blockchain-based technology makes Gods Unchained a TCG alternative for other play-to-play games such as Axie Infinity. Not only does it feature non-fungible token (NFT) cards, but it does have decent graphics and gameplay too.
‘True ownership’ of virtual cards
Like most TCGs, Gods Unchained also allows players to earn or purchase cards and randomized card packs. This lets you gain new cards of varying characters, elements, and more importantly, rarity. Through this, the game promises “true ownership” of these in-game items, as you would with real trading cards. Although virtual, you can sell and trade them for their own cryptocurrency, the GODS token.
Not only does this system allow you to profit from hard-to-find cards, but it also sets up a community-driven platform where you can trade cards to build the deck you need. This is important especially because the card relationships are not as simple as one element beating the other, with layers of strategy and gameplay possibilities available. There’s no single most powerful deck, it will always depend on the player.
Lastly, it is inherently free to play and has an opportunity to turn profits for you. You just need to grind and a bit of luck to find the right cards, either for playing or for selling. Of course, like most blockchain-based games, the profit potential still depends on the coin that the game uses. It requires knowledge not only of the game but of the crypto market in general.
The Axie for TCGs
If you’re a fan of trading card games like Magic: The Gathering or Yu-Gi-Oh, then Gods Unchained is the best thing available for your device. Not only does it allow you to collect and battle with well-designed collectible cards, but you can also make real money by selling or trading its cards that double as in-game NFTs. While its card game is virtually flawless, its NFT aspect is something that carries risks inherent to the technology.
