Hit the road with Full Throttle Remastered
There was an entire generation of point and click adventures, which were a little ugly and quite basic, but had a huge amount of spirit, atmosphere, humour and wit. Full Throttle is one of those games and while it didn’t have as many fans as the well-known Monkey Island games, it still has a very dedicated cult following. Full Throttle Remastered is a chance to revisit that road-hogging biker adventure and let a new generation enjoy it too.
Bikers, battles and big laughs
Full Throttle Remastered follows the adventures of Ben Throttle, a biker gang leader in a future setting where bikes are on the out and the last manufacturer now wants to produce (gasp) RVs and sedans instead. You’re an ass-kicking outlaw, fighting with chains against other bikers in a Mad-Max style rampage, yet there’s also a huge amount of dry wit and clever humour, as you must use your mind to progress. This is a great mixture of action and puzzler and the new remaster makes the graphics much smoother for HD screens. You can toggle back to the old version for nostalgia. The game really excels in picking old-school biker music by the Gone Jackals.
A true old-school classic
Full Throttle Remastered is an excellent game that deserves accolades and will amuse and engage any adventure game player. However, it may go over the head of action FPS gamers who don’t remember this era. Still, it’s well worth donning those leathers.
