Free flying mod for Skyrim
Flying Mod Beta is a free mod for Skyrim that lets players fly. You can fly and casts spells, shoot arrows, use swords, daggers, and other weapons. It will completely change the way you play Skyrim. If you’re more interested in overhauling the dragon system, you can look at Deadly Dragons.
There are other mods that provide characters with beautiful wings. Animated Wings Ultimate is one such mod that gives you wings, as well as the ability to fly. Real Flying (with Gliding and Collisions) is a mod that focuses on making flying more realistic, with collision and gliding mechanics and animation along with flying. It makes flying seem a lot more natural to players.
Why fly?
Flying in any game is always fun. It gives you a chance to explore places differently, view the game’s world in a bird’s eye view, fight differently, approach missions and targets with a better strategy are just some of the benefits of being able to fly. If designed properly, a mod can improve your gameplay significantly.
More than just being able to fly, this mod lets you use weapons and magic. You can stay out of range of enemies’ melee weapons by just flying a little higher than them. Then, you can bombard them with spells and arrows. Unless your enemy is an archer or a spell caster, you’ll have to evade mid-air. Nevertheless, flying will make you a formidable opponent in Skyrim. The only thing more terrifying than a Dragonborn is a flying Dragonborn.
Fly with companions
You can use the flying spell on your followers to make them fly as well. If you can muster a group of flying companions who can cast spells, your combat sequences will become much more exciting. Being able to fly with strong followers and deal serious damage from a safe distance truly makes you feel powerful.
High up in the sky
Flying Mod Beta outdid itself. The controls are simple, while the animations are smooth and seamless. Overall, the mod is exciting and fun. It essentially transforms Skyrim’s gameplay. There are many more features that the mod has to offer.
The creator still considers the mod a work in progress as he intends to keep modifying and adding features like a new combat system and fixed collisions. Many of the bugs and issues were addressed and resolved, but a few still remain.
