Treasures from trash
After the Earth is finally swallowed whole by the sea, people are forced to live a life using what is barely left on the surface. It is not as bad as it sounds like, though. In fact, Flotsam is a simulation game where you will try to rebuild a whole civilization using scraps floating on the ocean. From the tiniest piece of plastic to the largest chunk of wood, you will be amazed at just how much amazing stuff you can make from them. This adventure game offers a refreshing take on a post-apocalyptic world, and building a city literally from floating trash is really fun.
Reuse and recycle
Worldbuilding in Flotsam is interesting because you will have to reuse and recycle whatever stuff the ocean brings to your area. However, this is not the only challenge you will be facing here in this game. The Earth is still not a friendly place to be in and there will always be outside elements that will try to destroy what you just created. For instance, giant waves can threaten to topple you over while other creatures can cause damage to your buildings. Also, the game is not just about rebuilding a community. Rather, it is also about survival. You will need to provide your people, who are called Drifters, supplies, food, and freshwater. Keeping your Drifters in good shape will make scavenging and building faster and easier.
Flotsam makes exploring fun because you will be venturing on open and unpredictable waters. Compared to other post-apocalyptic games, this one is not all about destruction and fighting off other human beings for resources. It will let you be free and creative! Flotsam also paints the world bright instead of having a gloomy vibe.
