Free concert-themed mod
FL Chan – Friday Night Funkin’ Mod is a new Friday Night Funkin‘ mod that puts FNF’s Boyfriend and FL Studio’s FL Chan against one another. For the uninitiated, FL Chan is the mascot of the music software, FL Studio. It’s available within Week 4 under story mode and in normal difficulty.
FL Chan is just one of many FNF mods available. Compared to mods like V.S Zardy and V.S. Whitty, though, this mod is rarely patched by its creator hence making it vulnerable to bugs. It’s still worth a try as it comes with 3 new songs.
Gotta get Chan!
Friday Night Funkin’ is a music-themed game influenced by PaRappa the Rapper and Dance Dance Revolution. FL Chan is included in the 4th week of Friday Night Funkin’s Story Mode. The mod can only be played at a normal difficulty level and includes only 3 songs. Another notable difference is that FL Chan doesn’t appear as an enemy. Instead, she is portrayed as Boyfriend’s duet partner at a concert.
If you’re familiar with FNF mods, you may notice similarities between this mod and the Hatsune Miku – Friday Night Funkin’ Mod. They’re both pop stars with colored hair that duet with Boyfriend. The music sounds similar as well as they have similar beat patterns. Luckily, the song charts are different so it’s still somewhat challenging to play.
Once you’re in the game, use your WASD or arrow keys to match each floating arrow the best you can. Each round’s outcome will be determined by the meter at the bottom of the frame. It switches to the left when you win, and to the right when you lose. There are three different modes in which you can play this game: Easy, Intermediate, and Hard.
Lackluster FNF mod
FL Chan’s replayability is quite low. First, it’s limited to 3 songs that you can only access in normal mode. This makes it easy for experienced gamers to quickly memorize the song charts of each song. Last, the songs sound similar to another mod so you may want to play one or the other.
