Field of Glory II is a turn based tactical game that is set between 280 BC and 25 BC. Players are given a selection of different Ancient Roman era armies to choose from and need to develop their army in a number of different ways until the army is finally ready to do battle with an opposing army.
Stepping Back in Time
There is a strong storytelling element in Field of Glory II and the game begins with an explanation of what was happening at the specific period of history that gamers have wandered into. Each detail of the game is true to the period of history including the costumes that the soldiers wear and history buffs are sure to be in the element. Once the army has been established and fully trained, players need to spend a little time working out where to position their soldiers before they are able to finally sit back and watch all hell break loose

The large and very detailed backdrops combined with head scratching strategy elements help to put Field of Glory II at the top of its class. Although people who have never played a war game before may find Field of Glory II a bit too slow to hold their attention for long, veterans of this gaming genre are likely to find plenty to sink their teeth into.
