Live the farming life in this simulation game
A new installment from the Farming Simulator franchise is now available. Farming Simulator 20 (also known as FS 20) is yet another offering from the game developer GIANTS Software. This single-player simulation game will let you step into the exciting world of farming, from harvesting crops and tending to your livestock to riding farm vehicles. What’s more, you can now ride your own horses. It will also feature a new environment and one of the largest agriculture machinery company in the world.
The farm on your phone
As with other farming games released by GIANTS Software, Farming Simulator 20 lets you immerse in the world of farming. In this game, you can get to role-play a farmer and do all the tasks that a farmer does in real-life. These include harvesting various crops and tending to the livestock of pigs, cows, and sheep.
Furthermore, you can get to explore the vast land around your farm. You can also sell your products in a dynamic market to earn in-game money. These earnings can then be used to invest in additional machinery and the expansion of your farm.
What’s new
Since this is another title from an ever-growing farm simulation franchise, players can expect additional features that haven’t been on the previous installments. For one, the game added horses to your farm animals, which you need to tend to just like your livestock. But, in addition to that, you can get to ride them to freely explore the game maps.
The game also lets you use more than 100 realistic vehicles and tools from some of the biggest agriculture machine makers. It even includes John Deere, the largest agriculture machine company in the world. You can also drive famous farming vehicle brands, such as Challenger, Fendt, Massey Ferguson, and Krone. Speaking of vehicles, Farming Simulator 20 offers a cockpit view to let you drive in an even more realistic way than before.
Of course, the expansion of the game does not end with new vehicles and machinery. Farming Simulator 20 also comes with a new North American environment that you can develop. More the game offers new 3D graphics to show even more detail on both your machine and land.
What’s bad
Farming Simulator is a very popular mobile sim game, and the release of Farming Simulator 20 is, of course, hyped. However, the game did not really live up to the hype it got. For one, the game needs serious optimization. It works fine only when you set it at low graphics. But, if you wish to play it even at a medium level, expect a lot of lagging.
Also, using a gyroscope for steering is a bad decision. Or maybe it wouldn’t be if the gyroscope isn’t too sensitive. But, as the game is now, it is hard to keep driving in a straight line.
Lastly, Farming Simulator 20 ditched the AI helper, which helps you in selling and getting things done. With this, you’ll have to get the machine from the shop yourself, since you don’t have the AI helper to do that. If you are new to the game, you will also need to learn the gameplay yourself as the app also removed its help function.
Seriously needs improvement
Farming Simulator 20 is the newest title to the franchise. But, if you look at it, it looks like it is the oldest version. While it introduces new features, there are a lot of functions that seriously need patching up. The game, it seems, needs optimization as it does not work on high resolution. More, the controls are either clunky or over-sensitive. Overall, Farming Simulator 20 will not give you your money’s worth.
