Build bizarre machines in Fantastic Contraption

Fantastic Contraption is a virtual reality puzzle game in which you must use a collection of simple parts to build machines that need to transport objects across a series of increasingly complex levels.

Design, build, bungle

Fantastic Contraption starts out with relatively simple puzzles, but quickly gives you more challenging environments to move your object through. Success is largely based on trial and error; you’ll use the simple tools you have to create a series of prototypes before finally settling on a design that works. The simple features in your toolkit can combine to form a wide range of different mechanisms. The building system does take a little bit of getting used to at first, but once you have the hang of it, creating gadgets goes quickly. It would be nice to have a simple undo function rather than having to manually break out pieces of your construction, however.

Fun for patient gamers

If you don’t mind the inevitable frustration of a trial-and-error game and are willing to invest some time in mastering its controls, Fantastic Contraption can be a challenging but rewarding puzzle experience. If you like physics puzzles, check it out.
