Slick sci-fi strategy game for PC
Falling Frontier is a premium strategy title for PC by developer Stutter Fox Studios. It’s a real-time sci-fi game set in space wherein players will be able to explore a vast and procedurally-generated star system. Build ships, gather resources, and compete against other factions in this new sector of the galaxy.
Compared to some popular titles in the genre like StarCraft II or Homeworld Remastered Collection, Falling Frontier features detailed and modern graphics. Also, it offers deeper gameplay systems and mechanics that involve design, recon, and logistics that make it a far more rounded and immersive experience.
What is the game all about?
In Falling Frontier, you are part of an expeditionary force that has just finished constructing its first space port in the orbit of a new world. However, you are not alone as rival factions and clans that have been born from the colonial wars between Earth, Titan, and Venus have also arrived with the same intent of establishing themselves and colonizing this new sector of space.
The game features a vast procedurally-generated star system filled with planets, moons, and asteroid fields waiting to be discovered. Choose from among 20 ships to design and customize, as well as form a well-rounded crew based on their traits and abilities to help you throughout the journey. Combat happens in real-time and takes on a more realistic approach as friendly fire and other mishaps will have consequences.
Intel and logistics will play a key role in the battles that you’ll have, so it will be essential to occupy strategic locations and supply hubs and do some recon before engaging in any fight. Now, there is still some time to go before the game actually releases, with a planned release date in the second quarter of 2022. Check out its official page for more updates.
A beautiful new strategy game set in space
There has not been a lot of new releases when it comes to sci-fi-themed RTS games in recent years, but Falling Frontier is looking to change that trend and it’s quite promising. It looks beautiful, offers plenty of customization, and comes with some unique mechanics for more in-depth and strategic gameplay. This one is worth keeping an eye out for.
