A factory management sim for PC

Factropy is a free simulation game for PC made by an indie developer who goes by the name dorfl. In this management sim, players will be given the task of building and running a factory that manufactures a variety of materials and equipment needed for construction.

Just like with Factorio and Satisfactory, Factropy is a game that is all about creating a highly efficient factory facility. It takes cues from both titles for its game design, but provides a more streamlined experience that even beginners to the genre can learn easily and enjoy playing.

Build the factory of your dreams

In a nutshell, Factropy is a factory management game that takes inspiration from other titles that have helped define and popularize the genre. It features the third-person top-down view of Factorio for an ideal perspective of everything. Meanwhile, it takes cues from Satisfactory for its deep and complex gameplay design, but not too much that it becomes overwhelming for beginners and newcomers to understand and learn.

The game strikes a nice balance between scale and manageability. You’ll have resources at the ready for collection and you can play at your own pace. There are plenty of things you can do and build for your factory, such as vehicles and drones that deliver materials and equipment for construction. From there, you can streamline your logistical system with constructs like pneumatic tubes, monorails, and various carrier aircraft.

There’s even a combat element in the game to keep you on your feet. You’ll have to deal with an unseen enemy sending aerial attacks to destroy your base by putting ground defenses and anti-air artillery. Before jumping in, just note that it’s still in active development and is not yet complete. Expect more changes to come to its gameplay in future updates.

Build, expand, defend

In conclusion, Factropy is quite an interesting factory management sim that is worth keeping tabs on. It’s easy to get into and learn for beginners while still offering a good amount of complexity and deep gameplay that long-time fans of the genre will appreciate. A bit of a downside is that it’s still in development. Hopefully, the full game comes out soon. Recommended.
