Get ultimate computer performance
Experf is a lightweight utility application by Cristoforo Bonissone. Free to download and use, this program adds another power plan within your computer’s power options menu. It lets you get the ultimate performance from your machine by deactivating the power-saving options.
Experf cranks everything up to the maximum levels. It allows your CPU to run at its highest capabilities no matter what. However, it does all this at the cost of power consumption. It should not be a problem for desktop computer users. However, laptops should always be connected to a power source whenever you use this app.
What is Experf?
Experf is an application designed to avoid any power-saving options. If you want your machine to never sleep, reduce the CPU speed, or dim the screen lights, this app is for you. It makes sure that your device is running at ultimate levels by adding another power plan within the power options menu. It lets you tweak every performance option to maximum and even deactivates the power-saving mode.
As mentioned, the app is very light on resources. However, note that this does not have a GUI, where you can tweak the setting. You have to manually choose the additional power-saving option on the Control Panel under the Power Options menu. By default, your computer uses the Balanced power plan. Once you launch this app, you can see the Ultimate Performance when you collapse the drop-down menu.
As noted, the app is the opposite of a power saver. Since it brings up the highest performance, it takes a toll on your machine’s power. For PC users, it shouldn’t be a problem unless we are talking about power consumption. It is a different story for laptop users, however. Unless you connect your device to a power source all the time, the app can do more harm than good.
Use with caution
To sum it up, Experf is a tool that allows you to run your computer at maximum levels. The app provides you with an option to crank up every performance option in your machine. With this, you won’t have to deal with dim lights or reduce CPU speeds. However, as it works as the exact opposite of a power saver, expect higher power consumption.
