First-person psychological horror role-playing game demo
EXP: War Trauma is a free first-person demonstration game that immerses players in a horror-laden backstory alongside intense levels of psychological suspense. It follows the experiences of a World War Two veteran who is grappling with the terrifying symptoms of PTSD.
Although the storyline is quite different, this game is similar to Madison in terms of the sheer level of horror and the number of jumpscares that players will have to endure.
Non-fictional elements
This game is based upon a character simply known as Krieger, a man who is still experiencing psychological trauma from World War Two. While primarily fictional in nature, there are certain elements that can be traced back to real events. These will add an interesting synergy of mystery and history.
Strategically placed jumpscares
The sheer number of jumpscares are some of the primary elements which serve to define EXP: War Trauma. Due to the first-person perspective of this game, players may even begin to wonder whether these images are real or nothing more than figments of the protagonist’s imagination.
Disturbing graphics
This platform has taken full advantage of modern graphics in terms of how they are depicted. Dark lighting, thin corridors, and sepia undertones all help to enhance the sense of foreboding that has been imbued within each level.
The darker side of humanity
EXP: War Trauma seeks to exploit our innate fears in a similar manner to other franchises, such as Escape the Backrooms. However, the psychological nature of this platform is much darker and more disturbing. Those who feel that they are up to the task should enjoy the overall experience.
