Low-key app to manage recipes and plan meals
One thing there doesn’t seem to be a shortage of is programs to manage your recipes. Electronic Recipe Manager is another contender to the throne, claiming to be a low-key, efficient way of managing recipes and planning meals.
On first look, Electronic Recipe Manager doesn’t make much of an impact. The interface is old-fashioned and not very attractive. The program is divided into 4 main areas – Add, Search, Cabinet and Menu. These areas give you access to the recipe database, allow you to add to and maintain it, plan menus and create a virtual pantry.
The Electronic Recipe Manager is a pretty standard affair, with lots of drop-down menus and fields to fill in. it has a Storage Bin Utility, which is a window into which you can paste recipes and semi-automatically add them to your database. The search, cabinet and menu planning features are very similar – they work perfectly well but feel dated and are nothing we haven’t seen before. All in all, there are a hundred programs that do the same as Electronic Recipe Manager, and lots of them actually do it better.
Electronic Recipe Manager is a very standard example of a recipe manager.
