A mod that expands Skyrim’s framework for the NPC followers
Extensible Follower Framework, also known as EFF, is a free mod for the popular Skyrim role-playing game. Players will have a greatly expanded follower system when using EFF. It includes options to recruit up to 100 followers simultaneously, and you can execute commands via the menu rather than through dialogue.
EFF was created by fans of the game and is not supported by the game’s developers. However, there is a lot of community support available via the mod’s Nexus landing page. Running some of the mod’s features will require you to install additional mods.
More followers, more control
Perhaps the most significant feature of EFF is the ability to have up to a hundred followers at one time. The mod also enables extra commands for interacting with followers. The commands are available through the menu rather than the dialogue, providing a more intuitive experience. However, extra commands are available through the dialogue if the menu isn’t active.
More in-depth commands
The mod gives players the ability to issue a much wider range of commands to their followers. These include things like asking followers to collect goods, harvest specific items, relax, and more. Followers can also wield dual weapons and mount horses if the player owns one and can ride it.
More effective followers
Besides wielding dual weapons, the followers can change combat styles from a default mode to an archer, berserker, mage, thief, or warrior fighting style. It is even possible to “train” followers and update their stats.
Additional mods required
For players looking to expand the follower system in Skyrim, the Extensible Follower Framework mod is a powerful tool. However, to run some of its features, the installation of additional mods is required.
