Survive alien hordes in Earthfall
Earthfall is a cooperative first-person shooter in which you and up to three friends take on alien invaders. You’ll battle drones and even more powerful, stranger creatures. Guns aren’t the only weapons you can use against the alien swarms, however. You can also build different types of traps and barricades to control the map and channel enemies into kill zones.
If you think the idea of a four-player shooter in which you battle hordes of enemies sounds familiar, you’re not wrong. Earthfall is clearly inspired by Left 4 Dead, as well as by similar games, like Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide. It has many features in common with the classic co-op zombie shooter, including similar types of special enemies.
A battle for survival
Earthfall is a fast-paced first-person shooter that requires communication and cooperation between teammates for success. You can play co-op games with up to three friends or include AI team members if you don’t have enough human players. The constructible defense items and printable weapons add some variety to the experience of gunning down alien swarms.
The alien-shooting experience isn’t without its drawbacks, however. Enemies come fast and furious, which is fine, but friendly fire is on by default. As a result, getting shot by your teammates is a real and frustrating danger. Additionally, the limited number of game modes and predictable campaign levels also limit this game’s replayability.
Fast-paced fun without much depth
If you just want to blast some aliens with a few friends, you can find a lot to like about Earthfall. However, despite a few innovations, Earthfall adds little to the games that inspired it. As a result, it can feel a little derivative. This has the unfortunate effect of constantly reminding you of a classic game you’re not playing.
