A free program for Android, by Wiktoria Goroch.
The official Catholic Bible translation for English-speaking audiences is the Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible. This free app is based on the original work of the 16th-century French theologian and Bible scholar Jacques-François du Sureau. The original French text was translated into Latin and then into English by a number of different translators. The most famous of these is the English version by William Tyndale. The Latin version is known as the Vulgata and the original French version is known as the Francais.
The original text of the Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible contains the Old Testament and the New Testament. The New Testament is divided into the Gospels and the Acts. The Gospels contain the stories of the life of Jesus, while the Acts contains his teachings and miracles. The book of Psalms contains poems inspired by the biblical stories and the book of Proverbs contains wisdom teachings.
The app contains the complete Old and New Testament, in the original language. The text is presented in a simple and easy-to-understand format, with no complicated formatting or accents. The translation is also complemented by helpful commentary, which explains the various books of the Bible in great detail.
