Get rid of things to solve puzzles
DOP 2: Delete One Part is a free puzzle mobile video game wherein you have to erase parts in order to solve riddles. Developed by SayGames, this wacky 2D game presents an uncommon type of gameplay mechanic in brain teasers and is practically the opposite of DOP: Draw One Part. However, while this offers endless levels, the puzzles tend to repeat themselves and there’s this sense that not much care was put into how they’re designed.
Just one swipe or two
In DOP 2: Delete One Part, the goal is to address the short question or instruction posed to every level. You have to solve them by literally erasing a part of the illustration presented—done simply by swiping your finger on the touchscreen. If you’re having a hard time, you can just watch an ad to get a hint. Sometimes, however, your swiping may not register accurately. Additionally, you will sometimes actually require two parts to erase.
This game’s interface is pretty straightforward, even with the levels. You simply have the level number, the instructions, the cartoon illustrations, and the hint box at the bottom. There’s also the settings button on the top-left corner, which will display three icons in a drop-down menu: Vibration, Sound Effects, and Music. You can easily toggle these on and off by tapping them. However, there is no menu interface so this is the only game mode.
The animated graphics are adorable and appropriate for all ages Plus, the gameplay is pretty easy as there’s no way to fail—you can repeatedly swipe around until you get it right and the images just reset when you make a mistake. However, ads will constantly play in-between levels and there’s no actual reward for solving the puzzles aside from unlocking the next one. It could use some other game modes to choose from.
A simple pastime
All in all, DOP 2: Delete One Part is a nice game to play when you just want to pass the time. With its endless number of levels and entertaining visuals, you won’t be too bored. However, it can easily get repetitive after a long while and the constant playing of ads can be highly annoying. Plus, the swiping doesn’t get registered at times to give you the correct answer.
