Choose your Guardian in this sci-fi FPS
Destiny 2 is a free-to-play action game from Activision Publishing, Inc. that takes place in a sci-fi setting filled with galactic battles and a lore-filled storyline that builds upon the fictional universe of the Destiny franchise. Players can also look forward to unique weapon types that they can use to hone their ideal combat styles.
Similar to the first installment, Destiny 2 also allows players to engage in multiplayer game modes where they can choose to go up against enemies together or challenge each other in a number of competitions with special rewards.
Dive into the extensive plot
As already mentioned, Destiny 2 is the direct sequel to Destiny and picks up on the storyline from the first installment. However, you don’t necessarily need to play the latter in order to understand the plot of this FPS game. The game features a number of story campaigns that allow you to explore the large in-game world and dive deeper into the lore-filled plot.
In addition to the intriguing secrets you can uncover as you continue to progress through the game, this action title also makes use of stunning 3D visuals with lifelike physics that allow you to feel as if you’re right inside the game. These visually appealing graphics are also paired with sizable maps and a number of expansion packs, which is why you should also anticipate some steep system requirements in order to fully enjoy the game’s immersive experience.
Get ready for a challenge
Destiny 2’s main gameplay elements are divided into two: player versus environment and player versus player. Players can opt to engage in battles on their own as they traverse the vast galaxy, all while completing story quests and earning EXP to allow them to advance further in the game. Another option is: they can also choose to engage in skirmishes and team arena battles against or with friends.
You can choose to do either one of the aforementioned game modes when going up against the intensified battle against the Root of Nightmares boss, Nezarec. Following feedback from players and a notably high clear rate, developers have opted to make the battle much more challenging in order to provide players with a more thrilling experience that allows them to feel a sense of accomplishment following a difficult battle.
Primary weapons make a comeback in PvE content
One of the main goals of this massive update is to make primary weapons more useful in PvE content. For instance, auto rifles are set to receive a massive 25% damage boost. This change is much needed, as Destiny 2’s content has been growing increasingly difficult over the years, and regular weapons have not been able to keep up with the pace of the meta.
Legendary-tier primary weapons get substantial buffs
One of the previous updates has brought buffs to most Legendary-tier primary weapons. Besides the massive boost for auto rifles, pulse rifles, hand cannons, and sidearms will all receive a hefty 20% damage buff. Scout rifles, already performing well in endgame-tier content, will also get a 10% damage increase.
Season of the Deep update
The game’s 21st, Season of the Deep, brings with it significant changes gameplay- and narrative-wise. It features the next missions and events that will take place after the previous season, expanding the known universe and possibly opening new locations to explore. Moreover, it also elaborates on the Lightfall campaign and is going to be accessible by all owners of the expansion pack, regardless if they’re season pass holders or not.
Furthermore, Season of the Deep features a new artifact, the NPA Repulsor Regulator. It replaces the previous season’s Ascendant Scepter and comes with its set of artifact mods, allowing for customization according to your play style. There are also new pieces of armor and gear, all of which are thematically inclined with the season’s theme. Besides all of that, subtle tweaks to Exotic pieces, enemy shields, and the Strand class are also in store.
A cinematic experience ahead
With stunning visual elements and a captivating in-game world, Destiny 2 proves to be an intensely thrilling experience that new players and fans of the original installment can greatly look forward to. Although you will need at least 105 GB of available storage space to run the game, it can easily be forgiven considering the numerous expansion packs that allow you to explore new areas and meet new friends.
New legends will rise
Humanity’s last safe city has fallen to an overwhelming invasion force, led by Ghaul, the imposing commander of the brutal Red Legion. He has stripped the city’s Guardians of their power, and forced the survivors to flee. You will venture to mysterious, unexplored worlds of our solar system to discover an arsenal of weapons and devastating new combat abilities. To defeat the Red Legion and confront Ghaul, you must reunite humanity’s scattered heroes, stand together, and fight back to reclaim our home.
