Wipe away icons when not working

Is your beautiful wallpaper strewn with a mess of icons? It seems a shame to bother having one at all when it looks so untidy! DeskDuster is a tiny application that will magic your icons away if your PC is inactive for a set amount of time.

Installation is simple, and you can choose whether to have DeskDuster start with Windows or need starting manually. The interface is extremely simple – with only one control. This is a slide to set the number of minutes your PC has to be inactive before DeskDuster hides your icons. The slide ranges from 1 to 20 minutes. DeskDuster minimizes to the system tray, meaning you’ll hardly notice it’s there.

There are no other options with DeskDuster, which makes its large open interface a bit of a waste of space! And while it’s nice to see your wallpaper in all its glory, that vanishes the moment your mouse moves, and the point of a screensaver is to change what’s on the screen, which DeskDuster doesn’t do.

It only performs one task, but if that’s what you’re looking for DeskDuster does it admirably. On the other hand, hiding icons isn’t the best idea for a screensaver.
