A stand-alone mod that combines Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert
Dawn of the Tiberium Age is a stand-alone mod that combines Tiberian Dawn (aka the original Command & Conquer) with Command & Conquer: Red Alert, putting the contents of both games into the more advanced game engine from the Tiberian Sun.
The mod allows players to enjoy the contents of both games, including adding mods to them, all the while benefiting from the more advanced real-time strategy game engine. It also features multiplayer on top of the standard single-player mode.
Combining classics
The original games—Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert—remain popular with fans of the series, even decades after they were initially released. Of course, with several more games in the franchise being released, the developers are no longer working on these. Dawn of Tiberium Age gives them some new life by porting them to a more advanced game engine.
Lots of content
As a result of combining these two games and the newer game engine, it includes 22 single-player missions, 10 co-op missions, 93 multiplayer maps, and several technical improvements. There are 4 playable factions to choose from in the GDI, Allies, Soviets, and the Nod. Each has dedicated units and history.
Modern support
A significant factor in the appeal of this mod is the compatibility factor. Dawn of Tiberium Age works with modern operating systems, meaning players who are nostalgic for the original games can play them without requiring old hardware, virtual machines, or emulators.
Good mod for fans of Command & Conquer
While a lot of content is added to the game, the fact that it stays authentic to the original experience makes it unlikely to appeal to people who aren’t already fans of the franchise.
