Dama Maroc is an interesting intellectual challenge with many benefits. This game can be played with one player or with two or more players. The aim of the game is to checkmate the opponent’s king. This can be accomplished by moving your own king to the opponent’s castle or by attacking the opponent’s king with a check or a mate. The last player to checkmate the opponent’s king wins the game.
In Dama Maroc, the board is divided into 64 squares, and each player starts with 16 pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. Each piece moves in the same way that the king moves. A single move consists of taking a single square or stepping on a piece and moving the piece to the next square or to the opponent’s side. A piece can only move to a square that is not already occupied by a piece of the opponent. A square is empty or occupied by a piece of the opponent when there is no piece of the player on that square.
