Expansion pack for the hit sci-fi game
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is a premium downloadable content that adds more content to the hit sci-fi role-playing game (RPG), CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. The main feature of this add-on is that it continues the story, revealing that Johnny Silverhand continues to live inside the head of V, the player’s character and story protagonist. Expect new locations, characters, and quests.
With Cyberpunk having recovered from its poor, bug-infested release, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is a welcome treat to the fanbase. Complete your library with the free-to-use modding tool Cyberpunk 2077 REDmod.
Continue V’s journey across Night City
As mentioned, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty serves as the continuation of the main story. In the premise of the base game, your character V is possessed by the memories and mind of Johnny Silverhand, the charismatic veteran-turned-rock star portrayed by actor Keanu Reeves. Silverhand returns, still sharing V’s body, and it’s up to the players to choose their paths in this gripping story continuation across Night City and neighboring districts.
Also, this expansion pack offers a host of new content, accompanied by a gameplay approach focused on stealth instead of the usual straightforward action. In this sequel, players are introduced to the New United States of America, or NUSA, which aims to restore the United States to its former glory. It results in a new playable district and new weapons and techs to unlock.
Story-wise, this DLC manages to tie in well regardless of the player’s decisions in the base game. Additionally, it teases a lot more content than what is already revealed. Unfortunately, most of these places and content remain inaccessible. Also, it picks up where the base game trails off, technically speaking. It’s not as bad as it was initially released, but it still has a number of minor bugs that affect the gameplay.
Big cyberware update
The upcoming DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty, introduces an intriguing risk and reward system to V’s cyberware enhancements resembling cyber-psychosis. Players can enhance their abilities in this immersive game by incorporating cybernetic limbs and other advanced devices into their bodies. However, this cutting-edge technology comes with a perilous price. The excessive integration of cyberware can result in a condition called cyber-psychosis, where the individual’s mental faculties deteriorate, leading to a state of being akin to mindless killing machines.
A fitting expansion
The expansion pack for the highly acclaimed sci-fi RPG, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty brings a wealth of new content to CD Projekt Red’s hit game. Continuing the story, players delve deeper into Night City as V, the protagonist, is inhabited by Johnny Silverhand. Explore new locations and encounter intriguing characters. Despite some lingering minor bugs, the DLC expands on the cyberware system, introducing a risk-reward dynamic reminiscent of cyber psychosis.
