Report your symptoms
Coronavirus Disease 2019 or COVID-19 is a global pandemic that threatens the lives of millions of people across the globe. It is a new kind of virus that the world has never seen before. Healthcare experts are yet to discover its cure, but there are ways the community can help in slowing the spread of this virus. One of which is using COVID Symptom Tracker. It is a free health application that works to slow the spread of COVID-19 by allowing users to self-report their symptoms daily, even if they are not ill. The app aims to help the experts in identifying how fast the virus spreads in an area, where are the high-risk areas, and who among the users are most at risk.
Help flatten the curve
COVID Symptom Tracker is a mobile app developed by doctors and scientists at King’s College London, Guys and St. Thomas’s Hospital, and Zoe Global Limited. The app works in partnership with leading health researchers who are working to understand the disease. By using it, you can contribute to the advancement of the research and, hopefully, to the discovery of its cure. It works as a health tracker, where users will need to report their symptoms regardless if they are ill or not.
There are two parts to the app. The first part is about your health information. You will be asked to share some general information. You will also need to share some health details, such as whether you have certain diseases. The second part will be symptom tracking. In this part, the app will ask you every day how you feel, so you can share your symptoms. You will also be asked whether you have visited the hospital, what treatments you received, and if you have been tested for COVID-19. COVID Symptom Tracker also includes questions for cancer patients and survivors.
Amidst the continuing spread of the coronavirus, having COVID Symptom Tracker helps in flattening the curve. With this app, medical experts can better understand the nature of this disease, which, in turn, can aid in the faster creation of the cure. The mobile app is straightforward, allowing users to answer questions without complicated navigation. However, it looks as if the app is created in haste as it is missing a few functions, such as the logout button and the reset password process. More so, for an app that needs users to put in their symptoms daily, the app has no daily reminder.
