What is CompTIA?
CompTIA is a vendor-neutral, security-focused certification exam that is used by IT professionals to prove their skill level. The certification is aimed at individuals with a minimum of two years of experience in IT administration.
How does the exam work?
Each exam consists of six domains that encompass the knowledge required to pass the Security+ exam. The domains are:
Risk and incident management – You are responsible for identifying and managing the risks and incidents that may impact your organization.
Applications and control – You must know the security applications and controls used to protect data and systems.
Disaster recovery – You must be able to recover your organization’s data and systems in the event of a disaster.
Legal and regulatory compliance – You must understand the laws, policies, and regulations that affect your organization.
Security controls – You must know the security controls that protect data and systems.
