Beautify your tabs

Tabbed browsing was one of the features that originally set Firefox apart from the rest. Continue to get the most out of your Firefox experience with ColorfulTabs.

ColorfulTabs works on a simple principle – it color codes your tabs to make them easier to see and organize. There are various color options: you can allow ColorfulTabs to randomly generate shades and tones, color-group tabs according to website domain (if you have a window full of Softonic and BBC tabs, for example, you can make all of the Softonic ones pink and all of the BBC ones green so you can keep track of them all more easily) or custom color them, individually picking a shade for each tab.

ColorfulTabs also features tab effects. You can highlight the tab you are currently looking at, fading the others into the background (choosing the degree of transparency you want) or apply a background of your choosing to the whole area behind the tabs. Obviously this is much more effective if you have a certain degree of transparency enabled. The selection of colors offered by ColorfulTabs is great, and there is plenty of online help, including a forum.

If I had to pick any fault with ColorfulTabs, it would only be that you cannot pick a certain palette for a page of tabs, for example, pastels or fluorescent. That’s a very minor complaint, however, as ColorfulTabs is a great add-on that is both pretty and useful, especially when working with a large number of tabs on a single page.
