A lightweight launcher for your Android

CM Launcher comes from Cheetah Mobile, the team behind Clean Master. It claims to be the most lightweight Android launcher available, weighing in at only 1MB.

CM Launcher is a pretty stripped-back launcher for your Android device. It’s designed to be lightweight, so you can access your apps and device features faster. After installation, you’ll see a new, minimal homescreen, with a few different things. You get a range of CM Tools, which include a Data Usage app and a Power Saver. The latter is useful, especially if you worry about battery life – you can extend it with a single click, which is pretty good.

A ‘Booster‘ also lets you quickly kill memory hogging processes, which you can activate even without unlocking your device. The All Apps tool is very attractive, giving you a useful alphabetically ordered list of the apps you have on your device.

Little customization, but great for saving resources

CM Launcher is also customizable, with a Wallpaper app that is regularly updated with new images for you to use as your background.

If you have a high-end Android device, you might not notice the performance enhancements, but it’s still a good alternative launcher. CM Launcher is most useful if your device is struggling – then its resource saving features will be much more worthwhile.
