Free collaboration app for iOS devices

Cisco Jabber is a social and communication platform developed by Cisco Systems, Inc. for Android devices. On any of your compatible smartphone and tablet device, you will be able to access instant messaging (IM), voice, voice messaging, and video calling capabilities. Aside from thOSE, its presence feature allows you to see the availability status of a specific person if they’re available to talk or not. You can fully experience all of its features free-of-charge.

How do I use Cisco Jabber on Android?

Bear in mind that to enter the Jabber application, you will need to ask your system administrator about the sign-in method and account information. If other Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calling apps are running in the background, you must close all of them first to prevent conflicts that can cause unpredictable behavior. Furthermore, you will need to connect to a corporate network before using the app.

Once all of the requirements are settled, you can now open and sign in to Cisco Jabber. The ‘Contacts‘ screen will greet you if your sign-in is configured for instant messaging, presence, voice, and video calling. If it redirects you to a ‘Keypad’ screen you are only customized for voice and video calling. To navigate in most screens, you will often need to swipe to right.

If you access the navigation drawer of the mobile app, you will be presented with tab sections, wherein you can use more of its functions and features. On your profile section, you will be able to view and edit your availability status. Moreover, you can edit your app settings and tailor them to your liking. This collaboration platform, unfortunately, suffers from many time-out issues. You will probably need to uninstall and reinstall multiple times.

Excellent offerings but has too many issues

If you are only looking at its features, you will probably be easily impressed with this program. However, Cisco Jabber’s mobile application badly needs to be overhauled, specifically its performance. The truckloads of time-out issues that happen every time you try to use its service will really be annoying.
