Cross swords with foes in Chivalry 2
Chivalry 2 is a multiplayer medieval combat game in which you play as a warrior on a fantasy battlefield. You can wield a wide variety of different medieval weapons in team battles or free-for-all brawls.
Chivalry 2 features the kind of detailed combat system and bloody violence found in similar games like Mordhau or the original Chivalry. However, there’s more to Chivalry 2 than one-on-one fights. You’ll have to cooperate with your teammates as you face up to 64 enemy warriors in battle.
Where realism meets fantasy
Although Chivalry 2 takes place in a fantasy setting, the heart of the game is its detailed medieval combat system. To win fights, you’ll need to know which attacks are most effective for your weapon and the situation. You’ll also need to be able to predict your opponent’s reactions. The system is deep, and mastering it takes practice.
Coordinating with your comrades is the key not just to triumphing in duels but to winning battles. With the Tenosian Invasion update, you’ll also have the option of riding into battle on horseback in some game modes.
A touch of the absurd
Although Chivalry 2 is clearly aimed at medieval history buffs, it isn’t completely straight-faced. In addition to bows, swords, and other medieval weapons, you can also wield chairs, bottles, and even a chicken as a weapon. These and other light touches help the game feel fun despite its gruesome subject matter.
Medieval mayhem
If you like fantasy medieval combat and don’t mind putting in some learning time, Chivalry 2 will reward your investment. Its team matches provide fast-paced, blood-soaked action with plenty of opportunities for heroics. The different weapons offer many varied play styles to try out. But despite its arsenal of medieval weapons, this is definitely an action game, not a historical simulator.
