Cast Kodi: Cast Videos and Music from Over 50 Sites
Cast Kodi is a free Chrome add-on developed by regseb that allows users to cast videos and music from more than 50 sites, including popular platforms like YouTube, Twitch, Vimeo, SoundCloud, and even torrent sites, to their Kodi media player.
One of the standout features of Cast Kodi is its ability to analyze webpages for videos, music, or external platform integrations. For instance, if a webpage displays a YouTube video, Cast Kodi will automatically detect it and send it to Kodi for casting.
To cast videos or music, Cast Kodi adds three items to the context menu of links, pages, or video/audio selections: Play now to Kodi, Play next to Kodi, and Queue item to Kodi. Additionally, there is a remote control accessible through a toolbar button that allows users to cast the current tab to Kodi and control playback, including pausing, skipping to the next element, and adjusting the volume.
In order to use Cast Kodi with Kodi, users must first enable remote control from applications on other systems. This option can be found in Kodi’s Settings under Services and Control. Additionally, users need to configure Cast Kodi Options by copying the IP address of the server hosting Kodi, which is displayed on Kodi’s Settings page under System information and Summary.
