Free stand-alone mod for Skyrim

Campfire is a complete camping system and free stand-alone mod for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition with VR support. This mod is a modder’s framework, which means any player can create camping gear. The creator, Chesko, created Campfire from the camping system found in the Frostfall mod.

Campfire is designed to be compatible with every mod and has no mod dependencies other than the base Skyrim game. It’s a ‘master’ mod and will sit above most other mods in the load order. Players looking for alternative mods can try Frostfall, High Poly NPC Overhaul, or Camping Lite.  

Adds the ability to camp

Players can build a campfire that varies in size, from a tiny spark to a vibrant blaze. Add cooking pot to make food and your followers can join you around the fire. Large campfires will inspire, giving bonuses to skills. 

Create or buy camping equipment

Using items found in the world around you, create camping equipment like tents, tanning racks, and even a portable enchanting kit. Campfire adds backpacks so you can carry your additional camping equipment. You can also visually display your bedroll, torch, cooking pot, and other gear hanging off the backpack. Your follower will sit around your campfire and sleep in your tent as well. 

Use the Instincts ability to locate more

Campfire adds a new ability to this Elder Scrolls game called Instincts. Instincts is a vision ability that will allow you to see creatures that make noise, smell dead bodies, and show the direction of your current quest target. You can search for resources using the Harvest Wood ability to explore the area for branches and wood to create hatches, arrows, and other equipment.

It allows Skyrim players to immerse themselves fully into the wilds of Skyrim with new abilities, equipment, and even VR support. This mod has the most features for a free stand-alone mod and adds an entire camping system to the base game.
